Brief Background on Lifta:

In 1948 Lifta’s indigenous Palestinian community was forcibly removed, in violation of international law, and is prevented by the state of Israel from returning, also in violation of international law.

Acting in unity with the Liftawis, their global diaspora and the Coalition to Save Lifta, we extend an invitation to The Lifta Round Table and The First Geneva International Conference: Saving Lifta and Other Vulnerable Cultural Heritage of Outstanding Universal Value.

We aim to challenge Israeli plans to “disneyfye” the historic village site as a luxury residential/commercial neighborhood and to draft the First Geneva International Convention on Vulnerable Cultural Heritage of Outstanding Universal Value.
